Happy New Year...

Here is one of my favorite Christmas photo's.
The after math of opened presents.
We had a wonderful Christmas.
I hope you did too!

We all ended up with the Coos County Crud.
What we call it in our house hold when we are have snotty nose's and are coughing are heads off like crazy.
Didn't make for getting much done like I had planned,
but we are all on the mend.
So I'm thankful for that.

I did manage to finish up my Project Life album before I got sick.
If you are into Project Life and would like to check it out.
You can see my posts

I've already got a new card kit ready for next Monday's post.
So make sure and come back to see that,
but here's a little sneak peek.

On to the new year.
With that being said:
Happy New Year!
I hope you and your family's have a safe holiday..

New Card Kit Monday - Queenie and Princess

Heather's Hobbie Haven - Queenie & Princess Card Kit

This week's beautiful card kit uses a Saturated Canary image.
Aren't they adorable!

The  paper is from the Prima - Zephyr Collection.
I also use  two new Joy Crafts Dies.
and

The stamp set does not come with a sentiment.
I stamped the sentiment shown for you.
It's from a Verve Sentiment Set called With Love.

Heather's Hobbie Haven - Queenie & Princess Card Kit

I used my Sharpie White Paint Pen to add some dots
and a Wink of Stella Brush Pen in Clear to add some sparkle.
I love how bright and fun the card turned out.

Head over to the store and grab one up before they are gone.

Alternate Coloring...

I have an alternate water coloring for you today for the

I thought I'd try something a little different this time.
I embossing each of the images first and then colored them.
I've had my black & white embossing powder FOREVER.
It didn't emboss as great as I thought it should,
so I'm going to order some new ones.
I'll get a couple extra for the store in case you'd like to try it too.

Heather's Hobbie Haven - New Year Sakura Tilda Card Kit

This first one is embossed with detail black embossing powder.
It took forever to heat it enough to emboss.
One reason I'm getting new.

Heather's Hobbie Haven - New Year Sakura Tilda Card Kit

I saw this on someone else blog and had to try it.
I think it's look cool!

This one is embossed with detail white embossing powder.
It's not really white, white.
The other reason I'm getting new.
Plus this one took forever to emboss also.

Also for this one I brushed the eye's and eye brows off before embossing and drew them back on after I colored it.

Both are colored with Ranger Distress Re-Inkers.
The flowers I couldn't decide on a color so they have multiple layers of color before I decided on Spiced Marmalade as the top coat.

I loved that I didn't have to worry about going outside of the lines with the embossing.
Made it fairly quick and easy.
Lexie wanted to help a few times,
so I can see some water colors of her own in the near future.

Hope you'll give this a try and if you have any questions leave me a comment.

Outline: Tumbled Glass
Ground/Leaves: Peeled Paint
Skin: Tattered Rose
Cheeks: Worn Lipstick
Hair: Antique Linen, Walnut Stain
Shirt: Shaded Lilac
Pants: Black Soot, Stormy Sky

I think just the Spiced Marmalade would be great by its self.
